So, you might be new to flying. Like, never even been in a helicopter before. We were all there once too! It can be pretty nerve-wracking. “Is it safe???” “Can I see what it’s like before I commit to flight training???”

The answer to both of those is YES!

We know you probably have a lot of questions about flying for the first time. That’s why we have Discovery Flights. Consider it a chance to spread your wings, so to speak, and experience flight. You get 30-60 minutes with one of our certified flight instructors. They’ll walk you through the basics: pre-flight checklist, safety do’s and don’ts, landing, etc. Once you take off, you’ll even get a chance to try your hand at the controls!

Want to know more? Check out our Discovery Flight FAQs:

  • I’ll actually get to use the controls?

Absolutely! Our helicopters have two sets of controls for both the instructor and student. Your CFI will be right there with you.

  • Can I schedule my discovery flight at night?

No! We need daylight for better visual referencing. That means maximum safety for you!

  • Can I bring a friend?

Yes! You can bring a friend or loved one along for the ride in our R44 and R66 helicopters.

  • Will my discovery flight count towards my flight hours?

Yes! You can document your hours in your flight logbook.

  • Will I have time to ask questions about becoming a pilot?

Absolutely! We factor in extra time for your CFI to answer all your questions. We recommend checking out our complete FAQ page before your flight adventure.

  • Can I take photos or capture video during my discovery?

Definitely! You are more than welcome to bring a GoPro along for the ride. We can also provide one at an additional charge.
